Long Table Farm

Our primary goal and value in starting a farm is community. That is why we are reaching out to our community of family and friends for financial support in order to be able to create the best businness possible.

We have thought long and hard about starting this crowdfunding campaign- as new and young farmers there are many hurdles to overcome to achieve success- securing land, tools, infrastructure, as well as the many hours of planning and labor. We feel extremely lucky to have been accepted to the Old Fort Incubator Farm program, allowing us to afford 1/4 acre of land in Hesperus CO. We are also lucky to have the support of family who are providing access to another 1/4 of their land just south of Durango. Morgan and I both work full time jobs, and plan to both work 2 days a week during the growing season in order to cover our costs of living. With all this support, we are still coming up short for the funds necessary to achieve what we're setting out to create.
We do not qualify for small business loans because of our lack of collateral, and hence are seeking alternative fundraising methods.

By supporting this fundraiser you are supporting us as new, young, farmers who are working to create a bright and sustainable future for our community.

About Our Farm:

In the 2018 growing season Long Table farm will have a CSA for about 10 households, as well as bring produce to The Market at Three Springs (another endeavor of ours) every week, and supply produce wholesale to restaurants through the Old Fort market co-op.

At Long Table Farm we know that growing food greatly increases our overall quality of life, bringing us immense joy and satisfaction; our goal is to share this joy and quality with our community through farming. By connecting with food we connect with the land, our bodies, each other, and society- we farm to reconnect, to foster an awareness of, and passion for, where our food comes from and how it is grown; as well as to enjoy life’s ultimate pleasure- cooking and eating good food. The Long Table represents our core value that everyone has a seat at the table in access to healthy, fresh, high quality produce grown in their community by a farmer that they know. We strive to grow the highest quality produce for our community using environmentally sustainable techniques, and to foster farming and food as a space for connection and education.

Every donation counts! We are so grateful to be able to reach out to our community of friends and family to support us in achieving this long time dream of ours, THANK YOU!

Why We Are Fundraising:
