This is for Ming.

Ming is my 12 year old Pomeranian that has been in our family for over 11 years. I adopted him when he was around 1 -this was back when I was 19 years old and I recently turned 30 this past August making him roughly 12. I thought this year was going to be a big milestone of mines, but unfortunately it was his as well.  I came home last Friday and noticed that his eyes were just barely open.  He's never acted so lethargic, so I took him to the Urban Animal Veterinary Clinic that night.

Dr. Foss discovered a large mass.

We did a few chest scans that night, but the radiologist didn't work until Tuesday and so we had to wait to get an ultrasound then. Tuesday came and after Ming had his ultra sound, they told me Ming had a large mass in his liver and it's likely cancer.  The mass is roughly 5cm by 4.5cm. They advised to speak to a veterinary specialist  or an oncologist. I knew in my heart that I wanted to get Ming surgery if there was any possible chance that it would extend his life, so I went to the Oncologist.

Long story short, after two consultations -he now has surgery scheduled for next Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

I'm hoping to raise funds to help cover the cost for his surgery. If you're familiar with vet expenditures, they give you a quote from the lowest end to the highest end.  Ming is having surgery at BluePearl, and the quote I've been provided is from $4,500-$5,900 and the minimum amount is due at check in. This is in addition to the $1,300 spent on visits, x-rays, an ultrasound, and consultations he’s had.

Ming has been my best friend, since I was a teen and I just want him to be able to live his best life even if it means he's going to be able to eat to his heart content for the next few years then I'm determine to help him do so by helping him have this surgery.  If you've met and have interacted with Ming personally then you know his love for food and his sassy personality.

The surgeon essentially told me they won't know for certain whether it's benign or not or if it's more complicated than it looks just by the ultrasound and scans --that we basically won't truly know how bad it is unless we go into surgery. I just know that if I don't take any action, he won't be with us much longer.

I just want to say thank you to everyone's contributions.  Every dollar counts, but please do not feel obligated to donate. Your thoughts and prayers are enough and deeply appreciated.
