Long Island Farm Sanctuary is a 501c3. Our mission is dedicated to giving back a secure and compassionate environment to rescued farm animals who have been abused and exploited through the animal agriculture industry. We look forward to making this dream a reality and hope you become a part of this adventure with us!
While rescuing animals, we would like to be a sustainable farm by growing organic fruits and vegetables, while utilizing rain water storage, solar panels, and wind turbines, to energize and power the sanctuary. In addition, Long Island Farm Sanctuary will provide educational classes and experiences to adults and children on living a healthy plant-based lifestyle.
We are still working hard to raise the necessary funds to build out our home and expand and could use all the help we can get.
There are countless animals in need of sanctuary due to neglect, abuse or abandonment. We are surrounded by the slaughterhouses of New York City, petting zoos, back yard/small farm operations, keeping chickens for eggs and buying small animals temporarily as holiday gifts.
Our ultimate goal is to rescue neglected and abused farm animals and provide them with the care they need to heal. We will also help our visitors understand the routine practices of the farm industry, introduce them to veganic and permaculture farming practices, and help them to learn the affects that this all has on the environment.
In addition, we will work with the community to provide educational courses and camps for kids and adults. Our vegan public kitchen will be available for cooking classes as well as rentals via donations.
We believe that all life, big and small, deserves comfort, safety and love. We want to bring the community together by spreading compassion and kindness.
