Greetings Everyone!!!
I was recently accepted to the Long Beach Ballet Summer Intensive training program.
This is a tremendous opportunity that would bring me to China as a performer,
I could use your assistance to make this happen and secure funds by April 1, 2019.
I would like to explore, learn new techniques and grow, to find my full potential as a professional dancer.
I would also like to experience the cross cultural differences and techniques between ballet schools.
This is a special and rare opportunity for someone of my heritage to represent the Filipino community in the world of ballet.
I am currently a Senior in high school, in the Running Start program to complete all my academic requirements to graduate.
I was in the Dean’s List Fall of 2018.
I discovered the world of ballet when I was eight years old. I was in the third grade and was one of the few chosen to be in Pacific Northwest Ballet’s DanceChance Program.
It is a scholarship program that allows promising students to have the opportunity to study ballet no matter what socio-economic status. And after a few years of rigorous training, I am now in the Men’s Division, hoping to make it to the next phase, the Professional Division .
Ballet is a demanding sport.
It requires full attention and concentration. I have intense ballet training six days a week and study modern dance on top of the classical form, as well as the Balanchine technique. At an early age, I learned to balance my personal, academic, and ballet life.
I’ve performed at numerous Pacific Northwest Ballet productions which includes,
The Nutcracker, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia, and Swan Lake.
I’m also set to perform with PNB’S next production of Pinocchio (as the Real Boy) this coming March 2019.
After getting promoted from the DanceChance program, I am now a mentor for the new students selected for the said program.
Time permitting, I volunteer as a dance assistant with Pacific Northwest Ballet instructors.
