London's Brain Surgery Fund

This is my beautiful, caring, and wild hearted niece, London. She is 8 and was just diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and a Syringomyelia Cyst that runs throughout her cervical and thoracic spinal column. Some people who have been diagnosed with this, do not need surgery, but London's is severe enough to where she does need surgery, very soon. She will have to have brain surgery and possibly spinal surgery to follow. The initial (and hopefully, only) surgery is scheduled for December 7th, 2017.

We are very blessed because she is covered under her father's insurance. However, insurance won't cover all of the surgery and there are many other associated costs that our family needs help with. So here I am, asking for help. 

London's mom, my sister, is self-employed and will need to take a lot of time off during this process to be with her both in the hospital and at home, during recovery.  Because she runs her own business, she won't recieve sick or vacation time and won't be able to generate much income. She is a photographer, and being that it is wedding and portrait season, taking this time off of work will drastically affect her income. 

Beyond the hospital costs, the surgery, anesthesia, medications, hotel and travel costs (because the surgery is happening out of town), we are asking for help with one additional thing. After London's surgery she may not be able to ride roller coasters ever again. When we explained this to her she begged for a family trip to Disney before the surgery. We would normally just save up for something like this, as we have in the past, but we don't have the time. 

Being a family that normally pushes through tough circumstances, it is difficult to reach out and ask for help. However, we have decided that this is not about us, its about London. Therfore, we are swallowing our pride. We ask that you give only what pleases your own heart. You can be assured this is for a good cause and our family will be ever so grateful for help in any amount.
