My younger sister and two of her children were in an accident Tuesday morning. Thankfully the kids made it with aches and pains but my sister was not so lucky. She had internal bleeding and was rushed into surgery. Thankfully they caught it in time and repaired all and she is now in recovery. They are not sure when she will be released from the hospital and even then, she has quite the road to recovery.
In the accident her car (the only car in their family) was totalled.  Meantime, medical bills are piling, my sister is not able to go to work and won't for quite a few weeks.  She is an independent contractor so doesn't have sick time, vacation or other options to still get a paycheck during this time.  
I wish I had the words to express how much my sister would strangle me for posting this, our family is very proud and we all hate asking for help, but their needs are great ( a car, medical bills, general survival) and I and my family aren't able to pitch in what is needed to keep them heads above water.
If you are so inclined truly anything you can give will help. Not all of us are able to save for rainy days or have resources available to help in emergencies so I am praying that through the kindness of you all they will have one less thing to worry about.
