Lola's gallbladder surgery

My sweet Lola, who is normally so happy and playful starting showing signs of illness last weekend. It started with a restless night and progressed into vomiting, extreme pain and unexplained lethargy for days. After countless exams, mutiple X-rays, several blood tests, and two ultrasounds, her primary animal hospital determined she needed her gallbladder removed immediately. She was transferred to an emergency hospital within the hour and had life saving surgery. Her gallbladder had ruptured. The surgeons removed her gallbladder, flushed her abdominal cavity and biopsied her liver. My angel is still hospitalized and I pray she pulls through and is able to at least be transferred to her regular vet by Christmas. Anyone who know me, knows my dogs are my children and I'd do anything for them. She's literally the most loving and affectionate animal I've ever met and words can't describe what she means to me. The emotional cost of this experience alone is overwhelming, but the financial cost is life changing. I've done everything I can in order to give my baby the opportunity to survive this. Thank you to everyone reading this- to all my friends, family, doctors, coworkers (who are like family) and to anyone who understands the love and bond you can share with your dog.
