Loki's emergency surgery

Loki is an 8 month old Border Collie. About 2 weeks ago I noticed a lump on his neck just below his ear. The lump began to grow rapidly.  After lots of examinations and testing our local vet refered us to Northstar Vets. Northstar Vets is a Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center. Loki was in need of a time sensitive surgery for an abscess which had grown to the size of an apple. Because the abscess was located in such a sensitive area, the surgery needed to be performed by a specialist. Loki could not open his mouth completely, eat, chew or play.  The surgery alone cost way more then we could possibly afford. After surgery Loki would have a tube placed in his neck to drain any further liquid.  When the drain was removed, the pocket began to fill with after surgery fluid and is in need of further draining. We will be back at NorthstarVets for further treatment. Loki is just a puppy and has a long life ahead of him. Our battle is far from over and any help would be greatly appreciated. We love Loki so much and are looking foward to a long, happy, and healthy life together.
