Logan's Finger Surgery

Donation protected

Please check out my updates! I am grateful for all of the support I have recieved so far!

On July 17th, Logan unfortunately got a broken finger (right hand, ring finger) while walking her dogs on the beach. Logan does not have Health Insurance and is unable to afford an Orthopedic visit or surgery. A loving friend donated money to Logan to go see a doctor on August 4th, almost 3 weeks later about her broken finger(better late than never) only to find out that due to the type of fracture in her finger, she will need surgery and a screw to hold her finger in the right place while it heals. She has a spiral fracture. This procedure will cost about $3,731 with this doctor. She can have surgery this Wednesday, August 9th if she raises enough funds. Logan would like to get a second opinion though since this is a surgical matter and using her finger is very important for the rest of her life. The first doctor she visited is at Atlanta Hand Specialists. She would like to go see an Orthopedic at Peachtree Orthopedics she was referred to by multiple people. This visit is $350 not including anything. Logan has X-Rays of her finger and will hopefully not need anymore. She is open to any form of help or ideas of how to take care of her finger in a cheaper and more natural way. But time is of the essence since her finger is already growing back  in the wrong position. Logan is still exploring other options but is starting to raise money as majority of doctors she has spoken with require all payments up front without Health Insurance.

Logan has already paid $100 for the ER visit from July 17th and does not know what the full bill is yet.

I am so grateful for any help I receive.

Here are some other things Logan will need help with when she has surgery that she is including in the costs:

pet sitting/dog walking

house cleaning

food/prepared meals

driving/Lyft rides

Loss of work pay(1-3 days)

This will hopefully only last a week or less for these needs but she still needs help with walking her dogs for almost a month so that she does not re-injure the finger.

I love taking my dogs out so this is a hard one for me!

Again, I am very appreciative of any sort of help I receive. I understand some of you may not have funds like me so I ask if you could just share my GoFundMe! Thank You Thank You Thank You!

This is how the accident happened....

Logan and her 2 rescue dogs, Dakota and Falkor, were visiting  family in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Dakota is a 6 year old 50lb Siberian Husky and Border Collie mix  with high energy and LOVES to play with any animal!  Falkor is a 5 year old 90lb Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix with arthritis since a baby who loves to play but can be very dominant and sometimes slightly aggressive. Dakota and Falkor have been best friends since day 1. When playing in the water with her dogs, a woman with an excited dog comes close to Logan and her dogs to try and have a conversation. Logan immediately grabs her dogs leashes due to the uncertainty of how they might play together (mainly Falkor) and tries to end the conversation pulling her dogs the other direction WHILE knee deep in the water! Dakota got excited by the other dogs energy to play and Logan did not have a good grip on her leash. Dakota pulled and jumped so hard in one moment that Logan just had to let go completely. After letting go, she realized that her hand felt funny and that one of her fingers was twisted to the right. "Uhhh...wait, that doesn't look right. Is it going to pop back like jello in a second? It doesn't hurt. Oh wait, now it's hurting. Oh no, crap. Uhhh...what's wrong with my finger???" were some thoughts going through Logan's head. In the meantime, who knows what Dakota and Falkor were doing! Logan does not even know what happened while she was figuring out her broken finger. Once she realized it is probably broken and was really hurting, she grabbed her dogs and headed to the Lifeguard praying for some assistance. The lifeguard escorted her to her car and she headed to a Fire Department, a Chiropractor and Immediate Med only to be told by all 3 that the Emergency Room was the best bet. Wow. It had already been 3 hours. Logan headed to the ER at Coastal Carolina Hospital where they immediately took X-Rays and then made Logan wait 4 hours to tell her that indeed her finger was broken and gave her a splint to put on herself and that she needed to go see an Orthopedic. That was a long and painful day. But now Logan(and you) knows what to do when she has a broken finger!

I still love my Dakota girl unconditionally! She was just being a dog! haha

Thank you for any help you can provide to me!! I really appreciate it! I will keep this GoFundMe up to date as I keep researching options.

Thank You!! <3
