Yesterday, our community learned news no family ever wants to hear. Logan Liles, a 17-year-old Senior at Piedmont Community Charter School, was admitted to Levine Children’s Hospital with metastatic disease caused by an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor — a rare and aggressive cancer.
Logan is a bright, kind, and determined young man with his whole future ahead of him. In the coming days, he faces a challenging journey. Tomorrow, doctors will perform a biopsy of the T10 vertebral body to better understand the extent of the disease, and he will begin treatment with a targeted cancer therapy known as a TKI (Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor).
This road will be long and difficult, but Logan is a fighter. The treatments, hospital stays, and travel for specialized care will bring significant expenses. We’re asking friends, family, and our extended community to rally around Logan and his family — to help ease the financial burden so they can focus on what truly matters: his healing and recovery.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help Logan get the care he needs. If you can’t give financially, your prayers, encouragement, and shares of this campaign mean the world.
Let’s surround Logan with hope, strength, and love — and remind him he’s not facing this alone.
The Cogdill/Liles family has been through an unimaginably difficult year but they continue to persevere. This fund will allow them to focus solely on Logan's recovery and not on the overwhelming anxiety that unexpected medical expenses brings.
