Covid-19 Fundraiser for Lodonga HC

Dear Everyone. We are two Norwegian medical students from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland.
In September 2019 we had the privilege to work a month together with the medical staff at Lodonga Health Center in the Yumbe district of Uganda.
This is an ongoing cooperation between us and the health center. Another group of medical students from our University went to Lodonga March this year. Unfortunately, we've had to suspend all other activity in 2020. As such, our planned trip to Lodonga in September has been cancelled.
Lodonga Health Center has a medical staff of only 32. This includes nurses, medical doctors and clinical officers and nurses responsible for outpatient treatment as well as in-patient, including infectious disease, delivery of newborns and surgical procedures. Lodonga Health Center works on limited funds, staff and equipment in a district with over 270,000 inhabitants with limited access to health-care.
Our goal with this fundraiser is that the medical center will be able to acquire necessary equipment to reduce the impact of COVID-19 and to be better suited to treat affected individuals.
In addition to illness, the pandemic is causing food shortages in several African countries. The UN's World Food Programme estimates that food imports in sub- Saharan Africa will decrease by 13- 25% due to COVID- 19. In Uganda, it it estimated that about 1,4 million refugees will have their rations decreased by 30%.
