Locked up and Put Away: My 10 Years as a Juvenile Counselor, by Booker Geez it is a tell all book about his truth and experience working in a juvenile detention center. His story could be used as a platform to spark positive and effective conversation. That will lead to change and an overhaul of juvenile detention centers across America.

Booker Geez has been self-funding this book project. Because he passionately believes our youth's lives are at stake and a story like this needs to be heard. To generate interest in the book, he actively participates in book promotions and signings; he attends speaking engagements in schools and speaks directly with youths. His hope is that his book will be a catalyst to create social platforms to educate today’s youth on how not to fall into pitfalls that may lead them to a juvenile detention center. 

The funds generated from this campaign will cover expenses for promotion, marketing/branding and travel-related costs. The generosity of funds will enable Booker Geez to execute a strategic plan to share his story on larger national platform.     

Stories such as the horrific experiences of Kalief Browder recently gained national attention. The national level of exposure of his story fostered communication that led to a change in the New York City juvenile system. It is becoming apparent that these types of stories and Booker Geez's story need to be told to reach national exposure.  Booker Geez is an advocate for our children’s voices to be heard.
