Lockdown Garden Marathon for the Community
I am raising money for 2 projects.
I would love to raise money for our local foodshare in Maidenhead. They have seen such a huge increase in need since lockdown as businesses and
schools have had to close and more
and more families find themselves in greater need financially, physically, and mentally. I hope to reach £500 and will donate this directly to food share as well as offering my help with delivering food boxes to local families. At a time when a resource like this needs funds I believe it also is crucially important to raise awareness for the service and break down barriers so that everyone that needs it accesses it!
Secondly whilst myself and my children have been able to stay safe at home, well fed, protected and in a little bubble , we are hugely aware of the
amazing force of local carers, key workers, and
charity workers working tirelessly to help and
protect others at this time nationally but also in our local area. The less well known, unsung heroes and charities need support too.
So Every £25 over £500 , up to £750 that I raise I will team up with Brown Paper Packages (local company)
and gift a “well-being” box to any nominated local key workers and carers . You , the local community, can nominate them to me and if we raise enough funds they will receivea a little gift , hand delivered as a small token of thank you and appreciation from
us all . If amazingly more is raised we will be able to donate more to foodshare and the incredible work they are doing in our community.
The power of the community both in offering practical support, and love is so very very important right now
I will run 416 laps of my garden in one hit, that is
the same distance as the London Marathon,
26.2 miles. I will go live on Facebook and
Instagram on Sunday May 3rd from 9am and hope you can get behind me to help raise much needed
funds for our community and share the love whilst we fight corona virus as a team .
