A Local Mother in Need
Donation protected
2023 has been a rough year for many of us and I'm hesitant to ask anyone for a help but I'm really hoping to make a difference in this mother's life.
A few weeks ago I saw a post on Facebook of a mother asking for help to feed her children. She never asked for money only food. I took her some food that week and reached out to my ladies church group as well. She received some more food through them to get her through the week. Over the last couple weeks I have gotten to know her circumstances. She lost her infant, Ah'Mir, in January and has dealt with the emotional turmoil that comes along with the loss of a child throughout this year. A few months ago her one and only form of transportation started having car trouble. So, without a means to get back and forth to work she lost her job. I'm sure you can only imagine the whirlwind of depression and hopelessness that has come with these hard times. Due to the loss of income she got behind on her rent and is also unable to pay for the car repairs. The car is finished and ready to be picked up but she does not have the funds to pay for it at this time. She got a job at a McDonald's and currently walks to work but at this rate it would take her forever to get her car back. I set her up with local assistance at Lighthouse Ministries so she could get help with her rent. However, Lighthouse has a policy that they will pay half of her rent but she has to pay her half first. I am making this gofundme account to help pay for the $800 in car repairs and half of her rent that is past due so that that Lighthouse can pay the other half to help get this Mama back on her feet again. She has two children 7 and 3. I know money is tight for everyone right now but I'm truly trying to help make a difference in this young ladies life. We have applied for food stamps. We are waiting to hear back. I have invited her to attend church and my women's group and she has joyfully accepted my invitation. I have helped her get to some medical appointments for her son and get his medication. I have invested time into helping her in any way I can because I want her to succeed and honestly just give her some hope. She plans to get a second job once she can get her vehicle back.
If your heart feels lead to give torward her and her boys anything is truly appreciated. I don't think I have ever set up a go fund me and I know many will see this as a hand out and think to themselves there are a dime a dozen people out there in the world like this but with just a little help it would make a world of difference to this local mother.
Thank you for reading and sharing ❤️
