Lacey & Smith Hurricane Relief

Donation protected
Hello all!

As you know, Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey.  The hurricane dumped 9 trillion gallons of water on the city, causing the worst flood in recorded American history.

Navy Ray and I were completely safe; we spent the weekend with friends while our highrise home remained unscathed, our automobile safely parked well above street level.

My dear friends were not so lucky.

Shortly after moving to Houston I met both Joanna Lacey and Jeff Smith while working at a local Modelling Agency.  We bonded and became not just friends but family.

Joanna and her husband immigrated to the US from Scotland several years ago and adopted a son from Dallas two years ago.   During hurricane Ike when I was without power, they opened their home to my then husband and stepdaughter, navy and myself for well over a week.  Their house currently sits in 12" of water in an area of Houston that remains under mandatory evacuation.  They have lost their appliances, cars, furniture, and can only estimate the damage to the structure of their home as they are unable to reenter the neighborhood due to continued rising water.

Jeff was my boss, and many years later is refered to as my brother.   Jeff's home in Katy was flooded with 6-8" of water.  He has worked tirelessly to clean up the house and prepare for reconstruction. From his estimation, he will need new floors, baseboards, dry wall, and bathroom vanities.  His car was also damaged the extent is still unknown.

These people have been there for me throughout the ups and downs of life.  They are incredibly hard working and it is painful for me to watch their hard work and life plans take extreme turns from mother nature.

Any contributions you make to my fund will be split 50% between the two families.  If you are unsure where/who to donate to, I humbly ask for your donation here.  Rest assure that by donating here,  100% of your dollars will go to people who not only need to rebuild their house but will continue to make Houston Texas the amazing place that it is.
