Local family lost everything in a fire

This morning there was a residential fire in the Campground on the property at Clay's
Park Resort.
The family that was residing in the house was able to escape without
injury, but the house is a complete loss. The family and staff at Clay's Park Resort are
completely devastated for their loss, but we are very thankful for their safety, for the
dedicated first responders who were immediately on the scene, and for the generous
outpouring of support from the community.
The American Red Cross will house the family for
two days. The North Lawrence Fire Department is already accepting donations for items
needed including monetary donations for housing, clothing for boys’ size 6T and 10/12, boys
shoes size 5/4 and children's size 12, women's size 5 shoes and size 4 pants, women's medium
shirts. Winter clothing and food are needed. With the holiday approaching, the children love cars,
monster trucks, Legos, puzzles, and Spiderman.
The Fire Department can be contacted directly at
330-832-6347. Additionally, Clays Park Resort has created a Go Fund Me Campaign
to assist the family during this difficult time. Please keep this family in your thoughts
and prayers, and any help you may offer is sincerely appreciated.
On behalf of Juan Lopez and his family, Clay's Park Resort will withdraw the Go Fund Me funds that have been raised. These funds will be handled by Clay's Park Controller, Susan Menches. She will personally hand Juan a check for the total amount.
