Once a month our team gathers at The Laundry Room II (in Huntsville, Alabama), a local Laundromat, to wash and dry clothes free of charge for those who need it. Though we specifically make an effort to reach out to the homeless community, Loads of Love is not just for the homeless, but anyone who stops in. We also provide warm meals (courtesy of Chick-fil-A and members of our team). Our projects are operated by volunteers and run completely on donations from people like you. This page is where you can donate.
We encourage you to donate using a debit card - NOT a credit card. Please note that there is a small percentage (less than 5%) taken from each donation to use this site. On average, it costs just under $20 to wash one client's belongings each visit. 100% of the funds we receive from GoFundMe are applied to washing clothes (the money goes into the machines). We receive all materials, supplies, and food as donations! All our labor is provided by local volunteers.
Your gifts are tax deductable! Although we openly welcome volunteers and clients from any source, we operate as a mission of Wall Highway Baptist Church, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, which is recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service. Our EIN is 62-0535346.
Our mission is to assist people with a simple need; clean clothes. We have discovered, though, that Loads of Love is about much more than the clothes. It's about being a listening ear, praying whenever the opportunity or need is there, and letting our friends know that we love them. We want to do what Jesus would do.
