Duke Grayson Medical Fund

Hello everyone!  My name is Krystal Bowlin and I am helping raise funds for Duke Grayson and his family.  Duke Grayson has been a Lathrop resident since 1955.  He joined the Marine Corps in 1968 and was active until 1972.  He served two tours in Vietnam.  He then got married to Connie Hensen in March of 1982. Together they raised three daughters: Michelle, Keshia and Kalene.  Duke worked very hard for the City of Lathrop from 1984-2000.  He also served as Mayor of Lathrop for two years.  After working for Lathrop for 16 years he then went to TCI where he worked for almost 13 years.  In April of 2014, Duke found out he had colon cancer.  This was very devastating to him and his family.  He was the man of the house.  A strong man that worked very hard for his family.  Duke decided to try chemo so maybe it would shrink the cancer.  The chemo worked for awhile, but after time it stopped helping the cancer eventually spreading to his liver.  The chemo was taking a toll on Duke's body and he did not like it.  He decided to ride it out and not do anymore chemo.  Within the last few weeks he has become very weak and not able to eat or drink.  He was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night. The doctors have told the family he only has a couple days left.  The family is caring for him every minute of the day.  I can not imagine what they are going through right now.  I am setting up this fund to help with all of Duke's medical bills and the burial expenses that will be coming up.  This man has done so much for this community and I would love to be able to give back to him and his family.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated.  If you are not able to donate please say a prayer for the Grayson family!
