Emerson's journey

Donation protected
Emerson was born premature at 35 weeks gestation via emergency c-section with esophageal atresia, a trans-esophageal fistula and a esophageal web (EA/TEF) type B, long gap. Emerson underwent two surgeries, November 9th 2014 and December 5th 2014 to have this repaired. On December 15th 2014 a video fluoroscopic feeding study was conducted which showed that Emerson has significant swallowing impairment, including repeated episodes of laryngeal penetration and aspiration. As a result of these findings, Emerson cannot feed orally. A MIC-KEY G-tube was surgically inserted . Emerson is dependent on the G-tube for nutrition, it is anticipated Emerson will need the G-tube long term. He has also bad countless blue spells since being home , an apnea monitor would help us keep a close eye on him at night. We are being flown back and forth to bc children's hospital for dilatation's on his esophagus and multiple procedures, it is getting very costly for us paying for his medical supplies and flights to Vancouver. Every donation would help our family and be greatly appreciated =)
