This is my dad, Angel Aguayo. Everyone else calls him Papa. That is what he is to everyone; he is their papa. He is always smiling, always encouraging others, and will give the shirt off of his back if you needed it.
On Dec. 16, 2014, he was diagnosed with a rare type of Leukemia. Although scary at first, the doctors said that it was treatable. He spent 34 days in the hospital. He underwent countless blood transfusions, chemotherapy sessions, and bone marrow testing. These are just a few things he had to endure in order to get better.
He spent his birthday, Christmas, and New Years Eve in the hospital. All the while, his family and his church family stood by him and prayed for him. God heard our prayers because today he is back at home with the love of his life; his bride of more than 50 yrs.
He is not out of the woods yet. He has to undergo another set of therapy sessions that will last for five weeks. These sessions are expensive. His insurance is covering 80%, but he is left to pay the remainder.
He has to come up with $7,000.00. Doesn't seem like much, but when you live on a fixed income, it's a lot. My dad and mom have worked hard their entire life to raise their five kids. Today, they live in a humble retirement community on their fixed income.
We need your help to pay for his treatment. Anything you give will help my dad get better. The world is a better place with my dad around. He is the person that will greet you with a smile at the supermarket. He is the hug you need when you hear bad news. That is my dad and he needs your help.
