Sara's Car Fund

Challenge: To help someone with a huge heart who would help anyone at the drop of a hat. Sara is going through some rough times resulting from some unfortunate bad luck. This bad luck is causing hardship on her day-to-day living.

Let me start by saying that I have known Sara, very well, for 12 years. During that time she was a daytime nanny for my two children for several years. She has always dropped whatever she was doing to come and help if I needed it. Not just me, many people. She doesn't complain about it, always shows up with a smile and kind, encouraging words.

She's been an at-home-mom for most of her three childrens upbringing. Nannying for me allowed her to stay with her youngest son. Recently, she has started working for an assisted living home to supplement their income. Her husband is an author and while his income provides enough for daily staples, it does not provide anything to cover unfortunate situations.

This summer Sara was rear ended while driving her car, out of no fault of her own. She had minor repairs made to make it drivable, but it was in bad shape - taped up and rigged to stay together. Luckily her daughter-in-law was home for the summer so the family was able to use her car. Last week, Sara was stopping for a school bus when she was rear-ended again. This time her car was totaled and completely undrivable. Sara needs a car to get her to and from work, as well as drive her son to school.

When I spoke with her, she said "Please pray for me because I'm going to need a miracle."
