Lloyd Sandel Final Expenses Surfhouse

Lloyd Sandel and Surfhouse. The two are synonymous and both are Houston icons. If you lived in Houston from any time after 1967 and liked to surf or skate, go to the beach, hang at the skatepark or just look cool in your Hawaiian shirt, you know of this man and this shop. Lloyd passed away Saturday night, May 28, 2022, surrounded by his wife, daughter, a few special friends, and me.

 

It’s been hard for me to talk about this, I’ve known Lloyd, Carol and Susan for most of my life it seems. But as things go, we must. Several people have asked me if there is anything they can do to help Carol and Surfhouse. Yes. Carol and Surfhouse need our support right now. Our emotional support and our financial support. Most know that Lloyd and Carol were not wealthy, as some would define it. But they are wealthy in that they have a huge support group of friends and loyal customers. I am asking you all to please now contribute financially, if you can, to Carol and to keep Surfhouse open during this extremely difficult time. There are final expenses that need to be covered and bills to be paid.

 

If you ever ventured into Surfhouse over the years, you were welcomed in and never pressured. No shirt, no shoes, no problem. Anyone there was happy to talk, or not, show you the newest trucks or the vintage boards.

A memorial service/celebration of Lloyd’s life is being planned. When we get it all figured out you all will be the first to know.

 

Lloyd was a good man and will be greatly missed. Thank you all for your support.
