Penélope es un ser humano consciente de serlo y por ello ha dedicado buena parte de su existencia al prójimo, pero en especial a ese que está necesitado, desvalido, triste, hambriento, abandonado… De la mano de la fundación que dirige junto a su familia: “Llevamos Alegría” ha devuelto la esperanza a muchos. Sus invasiones sorpresa en pueblos perdidos de nuestra Venezuela han llegado a devolver la esperanza de muchas familias que no solo se han visto beneficiadas por los regalos, juguetes, ropa y enseres para el hogar, sino también por la alegría con la que llegan, la “magia” como ella lo llama, la sonrisa sincera, la palabra de aliento y el “aquí estamos para ustedes” que hace de cada entrega una “fiesta” en la que todos celebramos el volver a creer en hombres y mujeres de buena voluntad, defintivamente como la de Penélope…
En esta oportunidad, aunque la “fiesta” no está detenida porque ella sigue trabajando por y para la gente que la espera y necesita, es momento de dedicarle una atención especial a ella, pues lamentablemente en días pasados y dentro de toda la convulsion de un país que al igual que ella lucha para sanar, nuestra querida Penélope recibió de manos de su médico, Dr. Nino Ferri Nicassio, un diagnóstico de: CARCINOMA MAMARIO DERECHO, así, sin más, contundente como lo es ella, pero de igual forma con un buen pronóstico si se somete al tratamiento y protocolo recomendado.
Penélope debe ser sometida de inmediato a una cirugía que busca la extirpación del tumor, así como de una pequeña área de tejido normal que lo rodea. También se le realizará una mastectomía con fines preventivos. Después de la cirugía, el siguiente paso para el control de su cáncer de mama, consiste en reducir el riesgo de recurrencia y eliminar cualquier célula cancerosa restante con terapias adyuvantes que incluyen radioterapia, quimioterapia, terapia dirigida o terapia hormonal.
Con la fe puesta en Dios y en su médico que permitirá que él obre a través de sus manos, con la voluntad de Penélope y el apoyo de todos, haremos que ella siga colocando sonrisas en los labios nuestros niños y abuelos, siga siendo la gran hacedora de sueños que se ha dedicado a ser, el hada madrina de muchísimas personas, esa mano amiga impulsadora del buen trato, buscadora del ciudadano perdido, la mejor embajadora del “Hogar de Muchas Manos” y “Hogar San José de Mañongo”, además del corazón a toda marcha de su Fundación “Llevamos Alegría”. Penelope is a human being conscious of being and therefore she has dedicated a good part of her existence to others, but especially to the ones who are in need, helpless, sad, hungry, abandoned... From the hand of the foundation that runs with her family: "Llevamos Alegría" she has given hope to many people. Their “surprise invasions” in some lost villages of our Venezuela have benefited their habitants not only with gifts, toys, clothes and household appliances, but also with the joy they come with, the "magic" as she calls it, the sincere smile, the encouragement word and the "Here we are for you" that makes each delivery a "fiesta" in which we all celebrate the rebelieving in goodwill men and women, definitely like Penelope's…
On this occasion, although the "fiesta" is not stopped because she continues working by and for the people who wait and need, it is time to devote an special attention for her, because unfortunately in recent days and within all the upheaval of a country, which like her, is struggling to heal, our beloved Penelope received from her doctor: Nino Ferri Nicassio, a diagnostic of: RIGHT BREAST CARCINOMA, just like that, as strong as she is, but luckily with a good prognosis if she receives the recommended and on time treatment.
Penelope must be immediately submitted to surgery to let the doctor remove the tumor, as well as a small area of surrounding tissue. She also needs a preventive mastectomy. After the surgery, the next step for her breast cancer control, consists in reducing the recurrence risk and eliminate any remaining cancer cells with adjunctive therapies, such as: radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy, among others.
With faith in God and her doctor that will allow him to work through his hands, with Penelope’s will and the support of everyone, we will help her to keep making our children and grandparents smile, being the dream maker that has been dedicated to, the fairy godmother of many people, the friendly hand that supports initiatives like the good treatment, the seeker of the good citizen, the best ambassador of “El Hogar de Muchas Manos” (a foster) and “Hogar San José de Mañongo” (a nursing home) and the beating heart of her foundation “Llevamos Alegría”.
