Kevin's cancer fight

Brain Cancer Warrior!

My brother, Kevin Cain, is a Brain Cancer Warrior! Kevin was diagnosed "out of nowhere" with stage four brain cancer last October 2014. At the ER, Doctors at MGH were shocked he was able to walk and talk. After a six and a half hour surgery, a portion of his  soda can sized tumor was successfully removed and a titanium plate bolted inside his skull, Kevin was admitted for a week, then laid up in bed for a month healing from his surgery with a swollen face and a loss of hearing in one ear. Daily Radiation, chemo-therapy and medications followed for the past 7 weeks, but due to the aggressiveness of his cancer treatment, Kevin must stay out of work and take more chemo pills that will increase each month for 6 months. Kevin must also undergo monthly MRI, Cat Scans, Lab work and doctor appointments - which will determine if the remainder of his tumor is growing or shrinking .

Because of his illness and chemo treatment, Kevin is unable to drive or work. Unfortunately, he is now running into issues regarding his long term disabilty which he never added to his coverage...of course who would expect to wake up one day and find out you have brain cancer?? The stresss of that is bad enough. add the fact that he is now falling far behind on mortgage, car and utility payments and, of course, the medical bills r steadily increasing.

While looking into how far my baby brother has come in his life just to have this horrible disease cripple him, we also looked back at how Kevin has always given back to the community he loves wether he was donating his services through DJ'ing or was giving somebody free legal services just to help out, he always put his hand out for others....and of course, his family as well. God only knows where I'd be without him! Times are hard enough as it is with our only other brother James suffering a paralyzing stroke several months ago which also weighs heavily on Kevin's mind that he's unable to help or be there for Jimmy in any way...this is why I'm hoping and praying we can show him how much he's loved and appreciated through our contributions.

I initially hesitated putting Kevin's story on GoFundMe. He has tried very hard to stay afloat on his own, and his pride wouldnt allow us to do this until now but friends as helpful as Shannon Lundin and Linda McMaster reminded me of the kindness and generosity of friends , family and even strangers so I've decided "what have we got to lose?" If we DIDN'T put this up, he stands to lose a lot more...like his new home!

Kevin is a warrior in every sense of the word but right now he could really use our help. He is faced with the burden of losing everything he has worked so hard for and it pains me to see him worrying the way he has been. Please find it in your heart to support Kevin's cause and assist him on his journey as he has a lot more to worry about than his financial woes. All he's said from the beginning of this was "who's gonna take care of my wife and 4 children?!" God will decide Kevin's Faith....but, we certainly have the ability to make things a little easier for him and his family!

Thank you for your help! God bless!
