As most of you know LJ aka Jimmy, Bobby, James, and a bunch more. Was involved in an accident Saturday and was admitted to ccu. He was having bad seizures when they brought him in and has developed a fever. He has multiple fractures in the vertebrae of his neck, two small brain bleeds, messed us index finger, and cuts and bruises throughout. On Monday James was set up in a special chair this morning, which was no easy feet. He woke up yelling in pain but we got him settled down propped up by pillows and more comfortable....then out he went. The Neuro Team, Trauma Team, Physical Therapists, and Speech Therapy that have all been into evaluate him already. He is responding to some commands. He knows his name, knows me by site, does not know he is in the hospital or in an accident and thinks it is 2018. He knows he has an "effing dog" named Diamond. His fever goes up and down. They are hoping to move him to the step-down unit today and to be be able to remove the feeding tube, but to do that he needs to wake up and be able to swallow. He is still agitated but not to the same degree as yesterday...so far. That's progress in my eyes. He will be moved to rehab at some point. The doctor said not for 1 or 2 or 3 days....but eluded to weeks for serious in-patient therapy. Also yesterday as ashley was on FaceTime with mom, LJ started to wake up, she rushed over to him so I could talk to him but he went right back out. She held the phone up to his ear and I said, Hey Bubba, I love you..... HE RESPONDED I LOVE YOU TOO!! He may not have saw me but he heard me and actually responded!! Last night Not much change to report on James tonight. He was to be moved to the step-down unit but they do not have a room for him yet. He is still a little agitated but not as much as yesterday. He woke up enough to tell his nephews he loved them while I was talking to his sister and when I said you do love me? He said no then kidding as he went back to sleep. He seems to be itching a bit and his fever is rising and getting a little restless. They will take care of that shortly. Hoping he sleeps soundly and peacefully through the night. Please keep the prayers coming, if you can help thats awesome if not please share this post, insurance only covers so much!!
