Team Liz

Liz is a RN who has been working on the COVID unit at St. Luke’s Hospital.  She was hospitalized herself with COVID on October 3, and during this process, was also found to have leukemia.  The diagnosis of the specific type of leukemia changed several times throughout the next 11 days, but her oncology team was able to pin it down to a definitive diagnosis of APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia) on October 14.  

Liz will beat this!  However, this will be a long journey for her, and the exact plan is uncertain.  For now, we know she will be going in every day for chemotherapy  infusions for at least the next 5-6 months.  

In addition to the physical and emotional toll this is taking on Liz, there is also a financial burden.  On top of medical bills, her doctors have told her that she cannot work at all for at least the next 6 months.  This means she will have no income for rent, utilities, groceries, etc.

Liz is a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend to so many.  She is a happy, caring, selfless, and courageous.  Most of all, she is so loved by all who are lucky enough to know her.
