Liz Loves Goats

**UPDATE** We wanted to thank all the donors from the bottom of our hearts. We are truly thankful and humbled by the outpouring and love and support for this project to honor Liz. We are in the process of buying an amazing goat shed and fencing to keep our new residents safe. We have identified two goats from Philly that up until now have been living inside a house. This is not a good environment for a goat and we are so excited to provide them with a life that they deserve. I hope that Liz is looking down and will bless this project and that she would be proud the goats we will be able to save and give a home in her name. 

Liz Lewis passed away of natural causes on February 3, 2022. She REALLY loved goats and often sent friends and family photos and Tik Tok videos of them being their adorable and funny selves. She would slow down at farms and pumpkin patches and point out goats to make sure no one missed them. And she would get mad when she was told she couldn't have one by her sister Gillian (and everyone else).

 

 

In honor of her love of goats, we are accepting donations to our farm, Rose Bridge Farm and Sanctuary. We are a rescue sanctuary for all types of animals, including cows, sheep, pigs, rabbits and goats. We go to auctions and dairies throughout Pennsylvania and rescue the baby males (see Zippidy above) that would be sold into the meat market. This is how we just got the two babies below: Kenny and Ricky. Then they come to the farm and are bottle-fed and snuggled by visitors, staff and volunteers. Once they are weaned from bottles, we adopt them to places that want them as friends, not food. We have adopted over 50 goats in the past four years.

 

 

People also surrender older goats that no longer are wanted or have a place to live, like Tula below.  We take care of them until we find a forever home.

 

 

The surrendered goats need to be separated initially, so we need to build a place that our rescued goats can call home. And in Liz's memory, we will be using the funds to build a goat tower and surround the area with fencing, which will make them feel happy and content. Not to mention this will also give them a place to run around and have fun!
