Living Under Water

On the Colombian Caribbean coast, many populations have been affected by the La Niña phenomenon.

The video shows the catastrophic state of San Miguel (Bolívar), where the waters remain stagnant, and the residents have to transport themselves in canoes.

We highlight the case of Valentina Martínez Gónzalez (76 years old), ill with a fever, and her feet are visibly affected by walking inside her flooded home. Also, they don't have enough food.

Along with her goes her daughter, Albeira, who manages to walk in the muddy waters while capturing the health problems faced by the elderly and children, the lack of food or medicines. She finishes documenting her reality with a cry for help: “we are sunk.”
