Living to Climb

I have to start by acknowledging the shame I feel making this fundraiser. There are parties out there who are in desperate need of funds and support from the community around them. I am not one of those persons!

I have a dream that I have grown tired of dreaming about and will pursue many avenues in an attempt to aid me in chasing that dream. That dream is living the "dirt-bag" climbing life! Focusing all my time and effort in what I have found to be the most rewarding and meditative experience, climbing! I plan to start in Indian Creek, Utah and get a complete crash course in crack climbing.(hopefully without the crashing)

I am currently employed and have been steadily accumulating climbing gear based off the climbing guidebook for that area. I plan to have all the essential gear plus extra along with all the basic living stuff like sleeping bag, tent, water containers, proper clothing, camping stove, etc...
Plans have been made to fly out to Salt Lake city in Sept. of 2021 to scout the area out and have an idea of what I'm in for. The following spring I will load the truck up with my canine companion and finally make the full commitment!
As I will be leaving my job with the state of GA any funds received would go towards basic living needs food/water. If the fundraising surpasses a few thousand dollars, first thing -I would be beyond ecstatic and in disbelief I got even a penny for this. The next step would be to find a reliable used van to sleep and live out of which would greatly elevate my living status as currently I will be sleeping out of my truck or tent depending on the situation.

I have always tried to pursue the things that inspire me. Like joining the United States Marine Corps. after high school because I thought there could be no higher honor. Spending three months hiking the Appalachian trail right after that, figuring out what was most important to me and what I value most in life. My current job is mostly an office job and I am unable to find inspiration or joy from, which I am certain is the case for many people. I have to follow my heart, I have to pursue my dreams. Anything less has an ever growing feeling of a wasted life.

Funds donated are going towards a dream, a dream that will come true and hopefully inspire more people to follow their hearts. like I have been inspired by past and current "dirt-bag" climbers.
