Our dear friend Jody, whom we love, is being accused and charged with theft from the town of Blue Hill. It is a very serious charge. She needs financial help to deal with this terrible situation.
She has a good job now and is no longer working for the town. Nonetheless she's a single mom trying to manage a mortgage and living expenses and now legal fees that could quickly become steep.
Her career has been ruined by these accusations. Her reputation is in the garbage because of them.
Jody (and Jocelyn)have been coming to our UU Church since 2010, I remember noticing her when she came in to church with her baby girl. More recently she has been an exemplary member of the Blue Hill community. Over these years she and Jocelyn have jumped in with both feet to volunteer to clean-up the roadsides, stuff envelopes, wash dishes, read to the cats at the SPCA, cheer on the local basketball team, become a board member of the church and Nichols Day Camp, fundraise for many worthy causes and now she needs her community to step up for her.
Her arraignment is coming up on April 3rd. This money will help her with all expenses related to this extremely stressful challenge comes of that. She will be relieved and grateful for whatever help we can give her and Jocelyn in this time of need.
