We have located the perfect property to build the MHPG Living History Center. Just short of 1,500 acres of rolling hills, woods, ponds, trails and some more mountainous terrain. This is the property that could secure numerous forms of historical reenactment and preservation for many, many years to come. The property is so vast that it has ample space for every era our members could ever want to represent, from an 18th century village to WWI trenches and WWII European villages to a Vietnam Firebase as well as the capability to host large vehicle rallies and shows. This site could host countless events a year in many forms and it would never become old; in fact it will take you a life time to thoroughly explore the whole thing.

It is now or never. A more ideal property is not likely to ever come along. This site is located just a few miles off of Interstate 70 in central Ohio. It is about an hour from the Pittsburgh airport. It is beautiful terrain and ready to build on. Some events could be hosted almost immediately on day one with little additional input. If you have ever believed that reenacting or living history needed a site of its own, this is the best chance to make that a reality. This is a huge project, but it would be the home of all things military history for generations to come. No more searching for places willing to allow events. No more jumping through hoops setting up new events on new sites. This site will always be here, ready to go, with all of the back-end work taken care of and on top of that, it will be purpose-built specifically to host historical events. There will be period barracks, bunkers, trenches, houses, and entire villages.

We have been able to negotiate the property down from $2.3 million to $1.7 million. We have already secured around $940k towards the purchase of this land. This fund raiser is to make up the difference and get us the property we all want.

Why should you support this effort? This is not simply some crazy pipe dream, it is a real, tangible goal and we have a workable plan to make it a reality. We have been gathering input across multiple related fields of interest and have woven the needs of each into a cohesive collaboration of ideas. This will be able to host it all; public events, vehicle rallies, historical studies, collectors shows, and so much more. If you believe in the concept of a sort of "reenactorland" but you have not supported the effort to build it, then you can't complain when it never comes to be. This is worth it. Even if you can only afford a basic membership of even a small donation, it will all help this become a reality.

Airshows have airports, fairs have fairgrounds, racecars have race tracks; its time for Military History to have a Military History Center. This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this grand vision through. No matter what, we will always pursue the goal of dedicated sites and services to support the efforts of public education through living history.
