We are a team of student filmmakers making a 10 minute short film titled 'Live Fast Die Old'
'Live Fast Die Old' is comedy about a trio of pensioners Maureen, Graham and Arthur who decide to steal a priceless ring from their greedy care home owner, Victor Harrington. This mischievous caper is a love letter to classic British comedies, proving that crime (and comedy) only gets better with age!
Characters:
Maureen - A no-nonsense, determined woman in her late 60s with a sharp wit and a knack for taking charge in chaotic situations. She’s practical and resourceful, often keeping the group on track with her strategic mind. She is an ex-spy from WW2 and misses the risk and excitement of it. Maureen is a bit of a tech-savvy rebel, using radios and gadgets to command her team. Her confidence and leadership shine through, making her the glue that holds the trio together.
Graham - A retired postman, with a sarcastic wit, a little bit grumpy, but a softy at heart. With years of experience delivering mail around town, he has an extensive knowledge of its history and residents. His humor is dry and cutting, and always gets straight to the point. He is reluctant to change but his mischievous smile hints at a lifetime of secrets and sly victories. He’s practical, but his stubbornness and reliance on his hearing aid sometimes lead to comedic mishaps
Arthur - The energetic, trouble-making member of the group, always looking for ways to spice up his life. Arthur is the instigator, often the first to suggest bold, sometimes reckless plans. He has a youthful, kind spirit that belies his age and always finds a way to keep the group laughing, even in the most difficult moments. Arthur is ex-army and also misses the extravagant excitement and purpose it gave him.
Victor Harrington - The charming but secretly dangerous owner of Harrington House, a care home with a perfect reputation - but a history of unexplained disappearances. He appears kind and welcoming, always speaking with a warm smile, but beneath the surface, he is ruthless. He keeps everything in strict order and won’t tolerate anyone asking too many questions. Victor always gets what he wants, and no one dares to stand in his way
