The Live Events Industry is suffering heroically on behalf of the health and safety of our state’s citizens. In March of 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, thousands of Oregon businesses that create and produce events were the first to be mandated by our government to shutter their operations.
This industry will also, by far, be the last to be allowed to go back to work; and when we do begin to “reopen for business,” the restoration to our pre-pandemic level of earnings will be slow; a matter of many months, and possibly more than a year.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has already created a catastrophic financial impact on our livelihoods, a reality that will only worsen in the coming months. The very existence of our industry is at risk, to say nothing of the well-being of the families our businesses support.
This Coalition was formed with the intention of asking our governments for help, on behalf of all of us in Oregon’s Live Events Industry.
Values
We respect and revere the importance of gatherings and events; whether for entertainment, celebration, the raising of funds or awareness, or for corporate functions of all kinds.
We value supportive and helpful actions that will assist our membership and their families with improved financial stability and economic survival during challenging times.
We value support and helpful actions that will assist our membership and their families with improved safety, health, and welfare.
We value the beneficial sharing of ideas and information to assist each other.
We believe that by banding together as professionals and entrepreneurs in Oregon’s Live Events Industry, our voice is stronger and more focused on the needs of our membership both as individuals, and as a whole.
Vision
To coalesce our diverse group of small and large businesses, sole proprietors, and independent contractors who serve in a broad range of functions creating, producing, and delivering live events in Oregon.
Our coalition is necessary in order to make the unique needs of our industry visible to our governmental leadership locally, statewide, and nationally.
We wish to create a means for those with small voices to have a bigger voice, through our numbers.
Mission
To band together as professionals and entrepreneurs in Oregon’s Live Event Industry, in order to share ideas and to advocate for the health and economic survival of each of our businesses.
Objective
To successfully lobby our governments for meaningful change and assistance during times of industry crises, economic or otherwise.
To raise the profile of our industry in all media.
To create a safe space where our members can share ideas.
