Live by Faith, not by sight // FIGHT FOR JILL!

Donation protected
Earlier this year, Jill was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Surgery was able to remove and eliminate the cancerous mass that was found, however, a recent ER trip due to excruciating pain has found that the cancer has spread to both Jill’s liver, lungs and abdomen.

Dan and Jill’s Faith in God through this time has grown stronger and has truly been an inspiration to everyone who knows them. Even in the face of life threatening news, God has given them assurance in knowing that He is with them and He will guide every step of the way. They both have anchored their hearts to the peace that only Jesus brings in the midst of life’s storms.

Their motto throughout this entire journey has been 2 Corinthians 5:7 which simply, yet profoundly says, "For we live by faith, not by sight."

Due to Jill’s health, she was unable to work for about 6 months already and although recently returned to work as an Interior Designer, it looks like she will need to step away yet again. Dan serves as a Youth Pastor at Pomerado Christian Church in Poway/Escondido California.

As you may be able to guess, medical bills have been piling up and are becoming daunting. There are many ways that we all wish we could practically help, and one way that you can is to financially support them today.

I believe it is times like these where we are truly called to support our brothers and sisters in need.

Galatians 6:2 says, ‘Carry Each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.’

This verse always brings to my mind the story of a young girl in China carrying many heavy bags of rice around her neck as she walks up a hill to her house. At times in her journey to the top, those bags can become so heavy that it makes the thought of taking even one more step almost unbearable.

But then, to her great surprise, a bunch of neighbor kids run out and each one of them grab a bag to help lighten the load of worn out girl.

The weight lifted off of her shoulders brings tremendous relief and joy.

She is still left with a few heavy bags, but the support of those around her meant the world to her.

WE have the opportunity to lighten the load for Dan and Jill as they journey through this very difficult time.

Will supporting them financially solve all of their problems? Certainly not. But it will provide relief to one aspect of the this season that they are in.

As the body of Christ, we have the opportunity to make Philippians 4:19 come to life. It says this:

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

My hope is to bless Dan and Jill with $20,000 that they can put towards their medical bills. Anything over that amount will contribute to past medical bills as well as everyday expenses.

As you consider how much you may like to contribute, I have done a few different calculations that you can consider.

If 200 people give $100 we will be at our goal.

If 400 people give $50 that will get us to our goal.

So if you give up a few lattes a week for one month, you could not only use the time that you would spend at the drive through to pray for Jill, you could save that money and contribute it towards lightening their load!
