We are dedicated to making audiobooks more accessible to mobility-challenged individuals.
For our family, friends and other individuals with physical disabilities and degenerative disorders, manipulating physical books presents a unique challenge. Audiobooks offer a solution.
But opening apps, scrolling catalogs and the fine motor movements some take for granted create an obstacle between the mobile-impaired and their favorite stories.
The Live A Thousand Lives Project has been fueled by prolific Romance writers and unabashed book lovers who appreciate that audiobooks boost mental health, improve memory and stimulate the brain in ways that mirror reading printed text. Books feed our soul and fuel our imagination. We whole-heartedly feel these benefits should be available to people of all-abilities.
We are also looking for facilities who can accept these donations and put them to use! It is our hope they they will help individuals across the country and hopefully, one day, world.

Each device costs roughly $12 in total cost and so every $12 is one person who is able to escape into books without suffering through the difficulties of what they're currently going through. With a mission goal of 36,000 that is 3,000 individuals who will be gifted these audio players, already packed with classic books to dive into. 
PROGRESS:
We have already shipped 200 of these audio players off into the world. They're bound for ManorCare and Sunrise Assisted Living facilities on the east coast to be used in their Memory Care wings.
Between general physical limitations - and Covid restrictions on activities and socializing, we're glad the Live A Thousand Lives Classic Fiction audio players can bring entertainment and joy to their residents.
We're ecstaticweepyproud to be launching the Live a Thousand Lives nonprofit. And this is just the beginning. With luck - and more of the support that got us to today, we'll be shipping audio care packages to facilities and homes across the country.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Author Willow Winters started the Live A Thousand Lives Project to make audiobooks more accessible to anyone with a physical handicap or degenerative disease. Her desire to give the mobility-impaired community access to their favorite stories and her personal connection to books launched the project into motion. Since then she has been joined by like-minded authors and readers. Their mission has been to raise awareness, gather resources, and provide the stories that make pre-loaded audio players possible.
Audiobooks offer access to those who have difficulty reading print. But traditional audio players and apps require fine motor skills to use, something many differently abled people lack. Live A Thousand Lives offers a solution to this problem. Thanks to the easily manageable players, mobility-impaired book lovers can access their favorite stories without the difficulties of opening, scrolling, and operating standard apps.
This project was born from the belief that no obstacle should stand between a reader and the mental escape a good book can provide. Our goal is to give every book lover, regardless of prognosis the ability to enjoy hours of entertainment, experience hundreds of stories, and live a thousand lives.
