Little steps to a big future

Many of you know her name, you have followed some of her story. If you haven't we have always believed in Aylahs potential and her fight, even when the doctors told us to consider an abortion. Her health given A 30% chance of survival from 20 weeks. She  was born at 4 pounds at 35 weeks with numerous birth defects: including 3 heart defects growth restriction. Club foot, a congenital diaphragmatic hernia resulting in 3 month hospital stay. She beat the odds of 2 major operations before coming home. Since coming home her fight hasn't stopped. She is global developmentally delayed, taking her first steps at 2. Now at 2.5 she is taking independent steps, but struggles to balance and continues to fall. I think about what happens next, when will she run hip skip jump like all her friends? She has a gastronomy tube for majority of her feeds. Taking minimal feeds orally, she is doing things in her own time, but we would do anything to try speed up that process we have just been accepted into NAPA therapy in Sydney. NAPA therapy centre is the only of its kind in Australia Aylah has been accepted to NAPA and will receive 3 weeks of intensive therapy, 4 hours per day total of 60 hours, which is more than she receives in a year. Each day her therapies will include 2 hours of NeuroSuit worn during physiotherapy & occupational therapy, 1 hour speech therapy & 1 hour of CME, a type of balancing therapy. The total cost of Aylahs intensive therapy will be in excess of $ 10 000 . Over coming all she has aylah deserves every opportunity in life that we can try and provide We believe that with this type of therapy our girl will continue with her speech her oral skills and physically move forward and develop therapy at this age is critical and we would be so grateful to anyone who could make her future The best I can be Any money raised any money small or large will be used towards Aylahs therapy in Sydney and and any out of pocket expensive that contribute to her stay in Sydney.
