One of our young students (Isabel) who has ended up taking her riding lesson in the rain (more than once) or had a lesson canceled because it was too cold, approached me about the construction of an indoor. She has also volunteered for years and understands the needs of the farm and the potential value of a covered space for training, schools and of course, traditional riding instruction. I have had to run programs and lessons "weather permitting" for 38 yrs now. As a rescue with 70 ...horses, the priority has always been feed/emergencies, etc. so an indoor has had to be placed on the back burner. Within the last few months, primarily due to the generosity of one of my favorite families who bought THREE run in sheds and Dolores Meissner who held the auction in honor of her husband, Keith, the program is in a better position to consider fund raising for an indoor. Our friend, Wes Coon, has given us an attainable estimate for the construction.

For many years, I have loved helping animals that can’t look out for themselves. In Old Chatham, NY, I have put my concern for animals into action at Little Brook Farm, where abused and injured horses and other animals get the love and care they need. Little Brook also provides therapeutic riding instruction for children and adults alike. Watching my disabled cousin, David, beam as he bonded with the horses helped me see how powerful this could be. Instead of sending a gift, it would mean a lot to me if you would donateto Little Brook Farm. Your contribution will help Little Brook's "BITS" riding program build an indoor riding ring, so they can save horses and help people like my cousin year 'round. Thank you!
