Little Bear's Emergency Surgery
Over the weekend I nearly lost my best friend and it was honestly the hardest point I've ever had in my life. Little Bear swallowed a foreign object and progressively got worse over a couple of days. When she collapsed in front of me, I quickly ran her to her vet in Bondi Junction only to be told she needed emergency surgery.
Tuesday night she went in for surgery and I was told she probably wouldn't make it. If not for the wonderful care she received from Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists, Little Bear pulled through her 3 hour long surgery. She is still in critical condition as we don't know if her stomach is going to work or not. She had 40 cms of stomach and intestine removed and she is on round-the-clock intensive care and is on IVs and morphine.
Little Bear's emergency costs from the vet and vet hospital on Tuesday night totalled $8,500 and will reach well over $10,000 for the next 5 days in intensive care.
Although there are important issues, big or small, locally and around the world, pets have a special place in our hearts which is why she means so much to me. Little Bear is without a doubt my family and I will always care for her like so.
If you have had the chance to know and love Little Bear, or if you are a fellow dog lover and know the special bond with one, any donation is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and all the love and support I've received for Little Bear.
