Hi, my name is Simran, and I am from Canada. Like you, I have been a witness to the daily oppression of the people of Gaza. Thus, as part of my efforts to help students in Gaza, I volunteered as an English tutor for undergraduate Palestinian students in Gaza. Of course, the ongoing genocide has made that endeavour incredibly hard, but the spirit and diligence of students in Gaza continue to impress and inspire me. 
 
During one of these classes, I met Mohammed, who is trapped with his family in Gaza, under constant threat of bombardment, starvation, and annihilation. Mohammed is not somebody who will ever ask a stranger for help, due to his dignity and moral strength. But in the face of repeated displacement, the killing of his brother, and injuries to his family, have wrought deep havoc in his life. I convinced him to allow me to organize this campaign, in the hope that you, the one reading this plea, will deign to help him and his family. 
 
Please read his words and hear his story. This is the least we can do. 
 
*Introduction: A Cry from the Heart of Suffering* 

My name is Mohammed, a 22-year-old nursing student who once dreamed of a future helping others. I live with my family of ten in the Gaza Strip, where we led a simple life filled with hope and ambition. But since October 7, 2023, our lives have turned into an indescribable hell. This is no ordinary war—it is a war of annihilation that has destroyed everything: our home, our dreams, and our safety. We now live in a tattered tent, battling death daily through starvation, bombardment, oppression, and fear, with no remaining photos of the home that was once our safe haven. 
 
*From Stability to Ruin: A Terrifying Reality* 

Before the war, we were a close-knit family, gathering around one table, laughing, and planning for a better future. I aspired to complete my nursing studies, and my siblings had their own dreams. But the relentless bombing destroyed it all. The airstrikes and devastation spared no one, and over time, we lost our home, our memories, and even our sense of security. Today, we live under constant terror, with explosions echoing day and night—any moment could be our last. 
 
*An Unbearable Life in a Tattered Tent* 

We now live in a tent made of torn nylon sheets, unable to protect us from the harsh weather. In summer, we suffocate from the extreme heat, and in winter, we shiver from the bitter cold as rainwater seeps inside, soaking our worn-out bedding. This tent is not a shelter but a symbol of our daily suffering, offering neither comfort nor safety. 
 
*An Unforgettable Tragedy: Losing My Eldest Brother* 

On April 16, 2025, death struck us in its cruelest form. We lost my eldest brother, who was killed inside his tent right before our eyes, leaving behind his six-month-old baby girl. The infant was struck by shrapnel in her head and now desperately needs medical care that we cannot provide. Every day, we see fear in her tiny eyes and feel helpless in the face of her suffering. 
 
*Daily Struggles: A Fight for Survival* 

- *Starvation consumes us:* Food is scarce and prices are exorbitant. We struggle to secure even one meal a day, sometimes going to bed hungry. Our children and elderly, including the injured baby, need proper nutrition, which is unavailable, worsening their condition. 

- *Clean water is a distant dream:* Clean water is rare, forcing us to buy it at high prices or use contaminated water that exposes us to disease. The lack of water prevents us from bathing or washing, depriving our children of the most basic necessities of a dignified life. 

- *The tent: A prison of cloth:* Our torn tent cannot withstand rain or cold, making sleep impossible and worsening the suffering of our children and elderly. 

- *Fuel and pollution:* With no fuel, we burn wood, plastic, and old fabrics for cooking and heating. The toxic fumes cause respiratory illnesses, especially among children and the elderly. 

*Financial Burdens: An Unbearable Load* 

The cost of living under war has become impossible. We need at least 150 shekels daily to cover our most basic needs—a sum we do not have. Each passing day deepens our despair as we watch our children starve and our bodies weaken from cold and illness. 
 
*Shattered Dreams and Limited Hopes* 

All we want is to live with dignity and safety, away from bombing and destruction. Yet even the idea of evacuation to a safer place seems impossible due to the lack of travel funds or financial resources. We need your donations so that if an opportunity arises to leave, we can secure the costs of travel and resettlement in another country. We simply aspire to a life not threatened by death at every moment—a life where our children can sleep without fear. 
 
*A Plea from the Heart: Save Us Before It’s Too Late* 

We are on the verge of collapse, facing hunger, disease, cold, and bombardment daily. With hearts full of both hope and pain, we implore you to extend a helping hand. We urgently need: 

- *Food* to feed our children and elderly. 

- *Medicine and medical care* for the injured baby and other sick family members. 

- *Clean water* to preserve our health. 

- *A new tent* that can withstand cold and rain. 

- *Safe fuel* for cooking and heating. 
 
Any contribution, no matter how small, could save a child’s or elder’s life and restore hope to our family.
