Little Joey's Healing Journey

In the short time that Joey has been living, he's cheeky smile and joyful nature has touched us all. For Kitty (Katrina Cook) and Jack Potter, bringing Joey into the world only 7months ago changed their lives and filled their hearts with love.

Recently their lives have been turned upside down, when they received the daunting news that their baby Joey had a tumour on his kidney.  They waited patiently for surgery only to find out that the tumour is a Wilm’s Tumour and sweet Joey will need further treatment. It is classed as a stage 3 Wilm’s because they found some of the cells in his liver where the tumour was touching. Joey will need 6 months of chemotherapy and some radiation therapy. The specialists are very positive about Joey’s circumstances and confident he will be cured.

"We’re doing ok, we are devastated and exhausted, but we just have to get on with it and get through this. Joey has recovered wonderfully from his surgery and is such a happy boy. Hopefully he’ll continue to smile and win hearts all the way through." (Kitty and Jack)

Everyone has wanted to reach out and help Kitty, Jack and Joey. Although money can't take away the enormity of what they are going through and the months ahead, it can alleviate some financial pressure along the way. Things like parking at the hospital for regular treatments and loss of work when being by your baby boys side, all add up.

We understand that it is a hard time financially for some people with Covid putting strain on finances and work, but if you're in a position to give towards Kitty, Jack and Joey... every little bit counts! The next six months are all about Joey's healing..but also about lifting up Kitty and Jack so they can best support their darling boy. 

We are their village!
