Help Little Ian Heal

Gerald M. Ebersole, whom most of us know as Marcos, and his wife Mila live in Honduras, where he has been called to serve as a pastor in the Siguatepeque Mennonite Church. They almost lost their youngest son, Ian to an intestinal perferation, followed by a severe intestinal infection in late 2016. He was admitted to the hospital on two separate occasions, and the second time brought some very intense days and weeks as it seemed that there wasn't much of a chance for him to survive. After about two months of being in Hospital del Valle in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, he was able to go home with his ileostomy in February of 2017 in fairly stable condition. In the mean time, he continues to face a medical condition that has the doctors in Honduras perplexed.

Recently, a medical brigade from the United States came to a local hospital, and Marcos and Mila took Ian to see the pediatrician that came with that brigade. She believes that Ian possibly has FPIES, and really should be taken to a medical center in the US for further diagnosis and treatment. He needs to be in a controlled medical environment to minimize the risk of his allergic reactions to various foods, and he will also be needing to get his intestines reconnected as well.

Before he can go, there is paperwork to process since he was born in Honduras, and since Marcos doesn't meet the physical presence requirements for Ian to get US citizenship from his dad. Between paperwork, travel, medical expenses, and a place to stay, it will take a lot of money to get little Ian the help he needs. The sooner he can go, the better his prognosis.

If we each give $10, $25, $50, or even $100, it can really make a difference for little Ian!
