Little Gestures of Love

 February of this year my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) disease. MS is a debilitating and unpredictable disease that disables the central nervous system and disrupts the flow of information between the body and the brain.  Already battling cancer, this new diagnosis is directly affecting the respiratory center of her brain and is currently causing respiratory failure. Up until recently we have been able to manage this condition with an Inogen Oxygen Machine. This machine runs through the night to assist her breathing and oxygen intake. Without this machine, her breathing is severely compromised as a result of her MS.

 Due to a recent change in her health insurance, this Inogen Oxygen Machine, along with many of the previously covered medications and care have been cut off. This now leaves my family with an extensive and staggering number of out of pocket costs to pay for, moving forward.

 If you knew you my Mom, you would know that she is the last person to ask for assistance or a free handout of any kind. She has persevered through many struggles both physical and mental throughout her entire life. I never can recall a time where she failed to see the positive of any obstacle that was placed in her path.

 As I think about the future and the remaining time that I have to spend with her, all I want is for her to be pain free and have the peace of mind that we are doing everything we can to help provide the care and medical attention she will most certainly require. As a family we have and will continue to exhaust our own resources and the limited benefits of her insurance, but the harsh reality is, that because of her complicated health history and list of current diagnoses, and growing medicals bills, she is in need of extra help.  

 Any contribution will mean the world to me, my family, and my Mom. No one is more deserving than her. I am forever in debt to my Mom and forever thankful to all of you who take the time to read this and support this loving cause.
