As every woman while expecting a baby, I was hoping for a healthy child.
Our son Elliot was born 2 years ago beautiful and healthy! I felt so happy and blessed.
As he was growing up we noticed a few things about his development that caught our attention but I never thought anything was wrong. Unfortunately recently he was diagnosed with Autism Level 3, has been very heartbreaking, nerve wracking, sad and scary. Now we understand why Elliot doesn’t speak, struggles socializing, doesn’t have communication skills, is very sensitive to the sun light, walks on his tippy toes, flaps his little hands and has many more signs of severe AS.
Sadly, the waiting lists to get services in public hospitals or clinics can be as long as two years. We refuse to wait that long! Early intervention is the key to have success and progress in young children with this condition. We decided to take action! We are organizing Zumba fundraisers (I’m a Zumba Instructor) and we are humbly asking to our friends, family and community to please give us a hand and help us get Elliot the therapy he deserves and needs. He has a lot of delays in his development and it’s extremely difficult for us to see our son like that. As he is growing older his needs are changing and is becoming harder and harder for him and for us.
The programs and therapy for Autism are brutally expensive, one year of Intensive treatment costs around $15000 . It’s very hard not be able to afford the cost of it. We will appreciate your kindness and compassion for our little boy! He is the sweetest—very charming and loving . A caterpillar that with your help will blossom into a beautiful butterfly with the treatments he needs.
