Literacy and Leadership for Girls in Kenya
Donation protected
Sunflower Trust is doing amazing work with young girls who are truly furthest from opportunity. Unfortunately funding has been difficult for Sunflower and the organization is in need of help to keep the good work going.
Sunflower uses literacy and leadership activities to improve the lives of under resourced girls from Kibera, an informal settlement in Nairobi. Sunflower operates multiple holistic programs, including an early childhood center, an after school program for elementary-aged girls, a squash program, and leadership training with youth in partner schools.
At Sunflower, we believe that every girl, regardless of academic performance, has the potential to impact the world; we bring that impact to life through our holistic model of support and training, giving all girls the opportunity to succeed and follow their dreams.
Sunflower's after school literacy and leadership program works with partner schools to identify young girls in the bottom half of their class and provides support to enable them to succeed and attend secondary school. Your donation will directly help support these young people.
Sunflower has been recognized by multiple organizations and foundations, such as Girl Rising, The Kathryn McQuade Foundation, The World Literacy Foundation, the Roddenberry Foundation, and more.
