Lisha Auva'a - Forever 29

Donation protected
On Wednesday morning, 28th February, my parents cradled my beautiful sister as she collapsed in their arms and took her last breath.

Beautiful Lish was a fighter having overcome many obstacles over the 29 years she was with us and she was a fierce competitor on the Pool table so we thought Lish would fight like she always had. Within less than 24 hours, Lish went from cuddling and cooing with her baby nephew to becoming non-responsive and extremely ill. We believe Lish acquired a rare and aggressive blood disorder known as TTP (Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura).

As a deeply committed and loyal daughter, Lisha lived at the family home to assist our parents with financial and emotional support due to dad being unable to work with his disability and mum caring for dad. Despite her own debilitating health with ankle injuries and on and off illnesses, Lish did all she could to help and support mum, dad and our siblings residing at home.

The grief that no person can understand, that no parent should ever have to endure, has enveloped our parents. The time that we should be mourning and holding each other is being clouded by the tasks of seeking options to pay bills, coming to terms with the days ahead all whilst planning a day which they never saw coming.

With family members assisting through our cultural allegiances and close friends pledging support, we continue to be asked from friends and even strangers, on what they can do for Lish and our family. We would love for Lish to be as comfortable as she can be, for her to be laid to rest in a beautiful place and for our parents to have the burdens lifted off their shoulders that Lish so often carried.  Any contributions received will be directed to making Lisha's Special Day so lovely and any remaining funds will be provided to my parents to assist in the tough weeks to come.

Lisha treated every person she met with the utmost respect and was a humble and charistmatic young lady and we remember her favourite saying - “Treat others as you wish to be treated”.
