If you've made it to this page then you already love Lisa or know someone who does. Lisa is a wife, a mother, a granny, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, and so many other things to so many. If you know her, then you know she is already your biggest fan and supporter. Lisa cares greatly for the people in her life. Whether she is putting together workouts for her fitness group or coming up with new Bible class ideas or maybe testing out crazy new recipes on her unsuspecting family, Lisa is a part of so many lives.
In the past month, Lisa was diagnosed with ALS. If you don't know much about ALS, it is a terminal disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord causing muscle weakness and failure. The speed at which ALS progresses varies greatly from person-to-person. Currently, there is no cure for ALS. Click here to learn more about ALS .
How will the money be used? Well, to start, Lisa has been accepted into a treatment facility located in Bangkok. She and Mike will stay there for two weeks while receiving various therapies. While there are no promises that this will cure her, we hope this will slow down the disease and allow us all to create more memories with her. The cost for this treatment will total around $30,000.
As time goes on, Lisa will also have other medical expenses and home adaptation (wheelchair accessibility) expenses.
In all my years being a part of the McPherson family, I haven't known Lisa to ask for much help, if any. On the other hand, she is always there for me when I need a helping hand. I'm sure many of us can share stories of Lisa eager to help when we needed her. Let's join together to help out Lisa in her time of need.
