Lisa's campaign for SPELTHORNE DEMENTIA SUPPORT

Tax deductible
On the 22nd June this year I will be taking on the Parish Walk on the Isle of Man.  The aim of the walk is to complete 85 miles in 24 hours passing through all 17 Parishes.  As most of you are aware every year I chose a different charity to walk for and this year it is a local charity that I have been made aware of by a retired BA crew member and it is run solely by volunteers.

The Spelthorne Dementia Support group are a small group of local volunteers who make a positive difference to the quality of life of people living with dementia and also their carers and families. They are known as Purple Angel Ambassadors which is a Global organisation. Their aim is to improve the general understanding of dementia so that local people living with the condition receive sympathetic support from the wider community while still living in their homes.
They offer personal GPS LOCATORS for local residents with dementia who would benefit from them.  Carrying a GPS locator means an individual can be found should they get lost while out and about.  They also provide a ‘buddy’ service which enables carers to have a few hours respite per week.
Additional to this they organise four  coach outings per year for their  members to enjoy day trips out in safe and secure
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this extremely worthwhile cause.
