Lisa Rule's Legal Fund

Lisa came to the US with her husband and children from Australia. They came here for what she thought was the “American Dream”. Her husband is a US citizen and he painted the picture of a better life. After spending several years in the US it became apparent to Lisa that she was in a situation of entrapment. 
Lisa had been a stay at home mom for years now. She was in a marriage where she was not permitted to speak to her family, work, or even socialize with others outside of the house . Lisa was take to the other end of the earth, literally, away from the only adoptive family she knows. She has endured years of verbal and emotional abuse and no access to finances. On top of the years of isolation and abuse Lisa suffered in her marriage she also had a very tragic childhood. Lisa spent the majority of her life in an orphanage in Hong Kong. She was surrendered by her biological family to live in the orphanage at age 10. At age 15 Lisa was adopted into a wonderful loving family in Australia. They gave Lisa every opportunity at a successful life. When Lisa met her husband and married him, he isolated her from her adoptive family. They spend 10 years wondering where she was and if she was even ok. 
Through all of this, Lisa has gained the confidence to flee her abusive situation with her young children in search of freedom and peace. She is currently living in a shelter for domestic abuse. She has a long road ahead of her to fight for custody of her children and divorce from her husband among other issues. She is currently without a lawyer and is in serious need of legal aid as she fights to keep her two young children. She has no income coming in to hire an attorney.
