Lisa Elders' Medical Fund

Donation protected
Lisa Elders, a forty-one year old mother of two sons who are 21 and 19 years old. After battling with the flu, Lisa was admitted to the CCU in Anderson’s Hospital on Saturday, December 2nd where she was diagnosed with double pneumonia and immediately put on a ventilator. The pneumonia worsened in her first few days in the CCU, and she was soon diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). In the past few weeks, she has had to undergo several bronchoscopes and X-Rays, and she will soon undergo a tracheotomy because of the length of time she has been on the ventilator. Because of the severity of the damage to her lungs, she will have to undergo extensive therapy in an attempt to heal her lungs even after she overcomes the sickness. All of the procedures and therapy, along with the abundant amount of medicine being utilized to attempt to fight off the illness and her prolonged stay in the CCU, factor into an extraordinarily expensive medical bill.

Because she has been a stay-at-home mother for many years, her husband has the only income in their family, and he is putting both of their sons through college. He is able to do this because he is employed overseas with a drilling company. His job currently has him working in Singapore, which is much too far away for him to leave his wife while she is fighting to overcome such a terrible disease. Because of the severity of Lisa’s illness, he willingly flew home from Singapore early and took a cut in his paycheck, and it is very likely that he will have to stay home for an extended period of time, which will result in a cut in pay as well. With these pay cuts and his sons’ next semesters of college soon approaching, the expenses from Lisa’s medical bills are a source of great stress. I would like to ask for prayers for Lisa and her family, and for those of us who are able, to please contribute to Lisa’s Medical Fund. All monetary donations will go directly to Lisa’s family as they attempt to overcome this unfortunate financial burden, and beat this illness.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributes, whether it be through financial or emotional support, or kind thoughts and prayers. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
