Ryan Couling: A courageous young lad

Donation protected

Dear Friends

Thank you so much for your generosity so far. However for Ryan, the challenges financially medically and mentally continue.

Despite two radical surgeries and ongoing chemo this extremely rare cancer has the upper hand at present and is continuing its efforts to grow and spread. Ryan continues with his fight, never giving up and trying additional chemo and other treatments. He is a superhero warrior who could do with some extra support.

So today I ask if we could all dig a little deeper into our pockets to make Ryan's life as fulfilled and comfortable as we can in such tragic circumstances.

Let us go above and beyond for this inspirational young lad.

Thank you.

Life has ups and downs for us all. Whether it’s a financial challenge, a family crisis, a relationship or vehicle breakdown, a new job, a pandemic, or just managing the day to day routine.

But how life can change in the blink of an eye.

As parents we want to nurture and protect our children no matter how old they are. Some things we can control but somethings, as desperately as we want to, we just cannot fix.

Lisa, Garry and family have found themselves in one of those situations.

Their eldest son Ryan has just been diagnosed with an extremely rare liver cancer, Fibrolameller hepatocellular Carcininoma.  He will be undergoing aggressive chemotherapy followed by surgery.

Ryan is a fun loving 20 year old lad with a positive outlook on life. He has a passion for sport and has been active in local hockey leagues. Playing at AA level in Airdrie.  In addition he has found a passion for playing golf and bodybuilding. He worked hard through his time at school. Currently he is student at SAIT, studying for his future career in Engineering/Instrumentation. Cancer has now put his future in jeopardy.

As friends and colleagues of the family, we cannot imagine the pain and anguish the family are going through as Ryan begins his battle of survival. The biggest challenge of his young life to date.

Understandably Lisa and  the family need to be at Ryan’s side as he starts his fight against this awful disease, and with that comes the associated financial challenge.

We cannot help Ry win the fight but we can help in other ways. One way we can help support the family during this difficult time is to remove one worry by easing the financial burden.

So friends and colleagues it is time to pull together to help this brave and strong young man and his family. No donation is too small, please give whatever you can. Money raised will go towards helping the family, with any excess raised being donated to the charity of Ryan’s choice.

Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you.
